Load Testing

We bring to the table over a decade of enterprise class experience in load, stress and performance testing across many environments, including ERP, Web-based and legacy systems.  Our approach is proven to result in production-ready applications, systems and products that clients can deploy with confidence.

Our specialized implementations include the ability to both test and tune the client’s entire infrastructure: the OS, Web, Application Server and Database layers:

  • Web is tuned based on threads, concurrent connections and queuing.
  • Applications Servers also tuned based on threads, concurrency and usually JDBC connection pools.  Also setting memory heap size is most common in IBM environments.
  • Database is tuned mostly on indexes but also on how they are stored as well as locking at multi-levels.
  • The OS is tuned when applicable (e.g. UNIX has some parameters based on memory usage for LPARS).  Because memory and disk space are much cheaper today, companies often overkill their environments, with the unintended consequence of applications rampant with memory leaks.

We also validate the client’s current and future business requirements to facilitate planning for the growth of applications, as well as create baselines that can be utilized for regression performance testing during every release. This approach improves the stability of both the applications and the integrations.

We specialize in implementing HP/Mercury Interactive LoadRunner, IBM’s Rational Performance Tester and Compuware’s QA Load.
